Korean white rice (hin pap) recipe

Recipe for korean white rice (hin pap) in our easy ethnic recipes collection. For centuries koreans have served white rice at every meal, either alone or combined with such foods as barley, millet, corn, beans, or wheat. This recipe is made with the short-grain white rice that koreans prefer, which is tender and a little sticky. This recipe makes rather dry rice which absorbs meat juices and soups nicely. For a moister rice, follow directions on package of rice. (*)

Recipe ingredients

  • 2 cups short-grain white rice
  • 2 2/3 cups water

(*) If you serve rice often, you may want to buy a rice cooker, which prepares beautiful fluffy rice. What's more, it turns itself off automatically.
